Creative writing

Beware - you are reading my raw thoughts. They are unfiltered, and stupid at times, but I believe that's where ideas start. I make them public since I hope to find someone interested in contributing or joining me in building it into a product.

Inspiration is from Typora, but here's how my product would differ:

Focus on the experience instead of functionality

  • UI and Formating
  • Forget about all the advanced features (aka distractions)

Feelings I want to create: at peace, zen, concentrate, creativity, focus, no distractions

  • Visuals for breathing and relaxing
  • I have found that a breathing visual assistant makes me write more confidently

No barrier to entry / smooth experience

  • Web-based
  • No login required, but keep cache so you can find your file after closing.
  • Button for exporting as PDF, Word...

Some quick wins

  • Focus Mode & TypeWriter Mode
  • Intentional blur to prevent editing too soon (https://blurt.app/?ref=producthunt)
  • Voice recognition (hands-free typing)
  • Formatting options on hover (like Slack)
  • Shortcuts for formatting

Research combination of music and creative writing

  • Reading material / inspiration
  • Sounds for type of sentence / ponctuation
  • Writing a question ends with a sound to indicate it
  • Use case: writer knows how many questions his email contains? Gets a picture of the tone used in their email.
  • Positive, Negative, Aggressive, Curious, Open...

Research combination of visuals and creative writing

  • Visual that changes based on what you write
